If you’re like me and you want the best of both worlds (minimalism AND functionality), the El Camino bag brings that healthy dose of yin and yang.

The first thing I noticed in the design is that this is truly a carry bag. A dual-flex stand and a premium dual shoulder strap make it easy for me to walk the course and put this golf stand bag down when I’m ready to take my next shot (for par, of course).

But the most important detail for me is the weight. I don’t want to sacrifice my back in exchange for a bit of on-course cardio, so finding a lightweight bag factored heavily into my purchasing decision. This carry bag weighs just 3.9lbs and I don’t need to call my chiropractor when my golf round is finished.

Sometimes I find myself in a situation where I can’t walk the course, and thankfully Sunday Golf planned for that as well. Thanks to a flat base, the El Camino can work as a golf cart bag, but I think it’s best viewed as a carry bag.

• Driver/wood/hybrid (front storage area, closest to the stand legs)

• Three wedges: PW/SW/GW (left storage area)
• Putter (back storage area, closest to handle)

The bag can carry up to 12 golf clubs comfortably, which is all I need. This setup helps me balance the weight of the bag strategically.

I leave a few clubs at home (the ones I don’t hit well, of course).

Want to keep your drinks cold? The insulated frosty pocket has you covered.

I was impressed with all of my options for storage, and even though I tend to pack light, it’s nice to know that the room is there if I need it.

Stable Base and Stand

It goes without saying that the stand shouldn’t be flimsy.

So far, so good in this category. The Duraflex stand system lets me set my bag down in most places without it toppling over.

I’m not too cool to admit that I like to look cool.

Sunday Golf did a great job designing a bag that looks sharp on the course, plus they gave me 8 color choices to deliberate over.

Side note: I went with midnight green, but Cobalt blue was a close runner-up.

If you’re like me, you can appreciate an attention to detail, and Sunday Golf leaves very few stones unturned. The El Camino bag includes:

• waterproof zippers (not to be underestimated)
• tee/pencil holder

This MIDSIZE golf bag is BIG on features and gives me lots of options for my golf accessories.

Again, I’m very happy with my lightweight golf bag.

I can’t speak to how this bag will hold up over time, but I own several of Loma Bags from Sunday Golf, and they’ve done quite well over the years. I feel good about the materials used in the El Camino.

I love this bag so far. 

It hits all the marks for weight, features, and functionality. Plus, it looks good!

Two caveats worth considering:

1. You won’t be able to fit a 14 clubs in this bag.
2. Even though it can fit in a golf cart or a golf push cart, it’s primarily designed as a carry bag.

That being said, if you’re in the market for a lightweight golf bag with a stand, the El Camino is a functional and stylish choice.
