The Clutch at South Seas

The Clutch is a new short golf course in Captiva, Florida.
This 12 hole course opened in May of 2024 and is located at South Seas, a beautiful resort off the western coast of Florida. Golfers will be delighted by this Beau Welling / Chase Webb designed layout. Captiva Island is home to a broad range of wildlife, and the course is aptly named after a turtle’s nest. Each hole has a name that fits the history or wildlife surrounding The Clutch.

- Hole 2: Key Lime
- Hole 3: Mariner
- Hole 4: Heron
- Hole 5: The Vow
- Hole 6: Osprey
- Hole 7: Redfish
- Hole 8: Junonia
- Hole 9a: Hawksbill
- Hole 9b: Loggerhead
- Hole 10: Egret
- Hole 11: Snook
- Hole 12: Manatee
The Clutch features views of the water on every hole, along with a challenging and strategic layout. Unique, undulating greens are part of the experience.
Shawn Farrell, the general manager of South Seas, says that:
the course is positioned to be a contender for top short courses in the U.S.

Worth noting: This course was designed to handle significant rain (20 inches in a compressed time). Part of the layout even includes palm trees that were uprooted by Hurricane Ian in September 2022.
