The Shoe
The Shoe is a new par 3 course in Williamsburg, Virginia. It is part of the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club.
This 9 hole course was designed by Rees Jones. Golfers can expect great views, rolling hills, elevated greens, bunkers, and water hazards. Some of the holes have two tee boxes. Distances range from 43-137 yards, and a hole-by-hole tour is available on the course website.
The Shoe features an incredible layout and is open to golfers of all skill levels. Beginners will be challenged, but not overwhelmed. Experienced golfers will appreciate unique approach shots and the opportunity to sneak in 9 holes into a tight schedule.
This course is a must-visit for short course enthusiasts in the Williamsburg area.

How The Shoe Par 3 Came to Be
Some golfers may be familiar with the former Spotswood Executive Golf Course. This property closed at the end of 2022, and was slated for development. However, community feedback halted those plans, and about 1/3 of the property became the footprint for The Shoe.
Construction for this venue began in June 2024 and the course opened for play in July of 2025.
