Are You Cool Enough for the Phantomcat Nitro Golf Shoe?

Today marks an epic day in the history of Par 3 Near Me. For the first time ever, I’m writing about a golf shoe.

Why, you ask?

I think the Puma Phantomcat Nitro Golf Shoes are purrrrity sick.

For you older folks out there, “sick” means good, nice, awesome.

Last week I saw an announcement on Golfweek that Rickie Fowler would be wearing a new line of Puma golf shoes.

I ran a sneaker website back in the day — and I like Rickie well enough — so I had to click on the link to see these new shoes.

The Phantomcat Nitro left a lasting first impression, so I paused for a moment and asked myself a few questions. Those questions included:

• “Am I cool enough to wear the Puma Phantomcat Nitro?”
• “Will these shoes actually improve my performance?”
• “Will I walk more courses if I have a more comfortable pair of shoes?”
• “Should I actually spend money on a pair of golf shoes?”
• “Which colorway do I like best?”

As I weighed the merits of this new golf shoe from Puma, I thought I would pounce (pun intended) on the opportunity to highlight the Phantomcat Nitro on this here blog.

What to Expect from Puma’s Latest Golf Shoe

I spent way too much time researching the Phantomcat Nitro. At the end of it all, I reached the conclusion that the Phantomcat Nitro is Puma’s best golf shoe yet.

I’m not sure why golf shoes (and bowling shoes, for that matter) are typically so lame, but these shoes are a leap (pun intended) in a better direction.

You can spot the Phantomcat Nitro style a hundred yards away, but the fine details are what really set this shoe apart.

But Josh, are these shoes just style over substance?

Fair question.

After all, every shoe company can slap together a good marketing campaign. And if you’re like me, you may be naturally skeptical of campaigns that over-promise and under-deliver (like the campaigns of most US presidents).

Here are two reasons why you should give these golf shoes a try:

Reason #1: Pros will be wearing this shoe.

Rickie Fowler, Gary Woodland, Justin Suh and JJ Spaun may be sponsored by Puma, but there’s too much on the line for them to wear a garbage shoe.
