Golf Cart Sound Bar Featured

Do You Need a Golf Cart Sound Bar? The Answer is Yes.

I’m on a real music kick these days.

A few Saturdays ago, my family and I saw the Cold War Kids perform in Raleigh, NC. It was an awesome show, and my youngest child was lucky enough to land a set list from the band.

Nothing matches a concert experience, but the music high got me wondering, should I add a golf cart sound bar to my life?

I mean, what could be better than…

  • Enjoying my favorite tunes
  • While driving around in a golf cart
  • And soaking in the rays

This led me on a search to find the perfect Bluetooth sound bar to enhance my on-course experience.

Choosing My Golf Cart Sound Bar

I had a few criteria that were important to my decision-making process. I wanted a speaker that:

  • Sounded good (obviously)
  • Looked good (style points matter when it comes to golf cart accessories)
  • Could handle getting wet
  • Came with mounting hardware I needed (didn’t want to buy any extra stuff)

In the end, I choose the Kemimoto Midnight 60 Soundbar.

Unboxing My Kemimoto Soundbar

Once I confirmed that this soundbar would fit on my golf car, I placed my order and received a tracking number from the Kemimoto customer service team.

The soundbar arrived at my doorstep faster than expected, and since I have very little discipline, I pulled it out of the box right away (even though its still winter here and I had no intention of hooking it up to a golf cart yet).

Sound Bar for Golf Cart Still in Box

I was a bit worried when I saw the size of the box. I thought the sound bar might be too big for a golf cart. My worries went away when I realized the box was designed to accommodate plenty of foam padding, mounting brackets, etc.

Side note: This unit should fit most golf carts (Club Car, Yamaha, EZ-GO) as well as many UTVs and ATVs.

What’s Included in the Box

The package included:

  • The soundbar itself
  • Red/black cables that connect directly to a battery source
  • Remote (battery included)
  • Two mounting brackets with mounting hardware
  • Allen wrench to tighten the hardware
  • Rubber spacers/padding

How Does It Look?

This is a sleek, modern looking soundbar.

A closer look at my golf cart sound bar (ignore my greasy finger prints)

If you’ve been following this site for any amount of time, you know that I love custom golf carts. The key ingredients for a sharp looking build include:

  • Solid paint job
  • A lift kit of some kind
  • Nice golf cart wheels
  • Beefed up golf cart tires

If you’ve done all that work making your ride look good, you can’t go and jack it up with an ugly sound bar.

Well there’s good news in the style department – Kemimoto’s sound bar is a great looking addition to any golf cart build.

But How Does it Sound?

That’s the $350 question, isn’t it?

Since I’m coming off the high of a Cold War Kids concert, I thought I should test this amplified sound bar with the latest Cold War Kids album.

It was easy for me to quickly access a zero turn mower, so I connected the soundbar to the mower battery and cranked up the volume.

I was impressed.

[I actually tried taking a video of the sound bar in action, but since my phone was connected to the sound bar via Bluetooth, it wouldn’t let me record the video AND play my music. I’m inserting the Kemimoto website video instead.]

Here’s what I can tell you: the Kemimoto Midnight 60 brings the heat (500w at its peak)! There are four 4″ speakers packed into this unit, and they have great musical clarity and plenty of bass.

If you enjoy rocking out, you won’t be disappointed.

Side note: The Kemimoto website claims you can connect multiple sound bars if you really want the rock the neighborhood. I’m happy with just one.

How Hard is it to Install the Soundbar?

Kemimoto claims that installation takes less than 20 minutes. I agree with them IF you’re hanging the sound bar on a 1 or 2 inch roll bar. Most golf cart and UTV bars are perfect for this (the unit fits well on a brush guard too).

Mounting holes in the speaker make it easy to set up the brackets. No drilling required.

If you plan to stand this on a flat surface, installation may take a bit longer as you determine the best way to connect the unit.

Either way, you don’t need to be a mechanic or an audio genius to figure out installation.

If you’re worried about connecting to the golf cart battery, get someone who has some basic mechinical skills to help you make the connection.

Golf cart batteries pack alot of power, so make sure the cart is turned off, in neutral, etc BEFORE you attach the cables.

Other Sound Bar Features

Waterproof

This unit is fully waterproof, so I don’t have to worry about an unexpected thunderstorm or someone forgetting to put the golf cart back in the garage.

Playback Controls

There are a number of controls on the actual sound bar, but the remote is pretty handy too (though I only use 6 of the 24 buttons).

LED Light Bar

An LED light bar wasn’t one of the features I was looking for on my original list. That being said, the light bar feature is pretty cool. Colors and modes can be customized, so if you like sounds and lights, you’re going to have a blast.

Light colors on the remote include red, green, blue and purple. There is also a Kemimoto app you can download to have more control over the light modes. I didn’t mess with that.

Anything You Didn’t Like?

As I’m sure you can already tell, I’m a big fan of this sound bar.

If I had one complaint, it’s all the buttons on the remote. Most of you will love customizing the lights, different light modes, etc, but alas, I’m a simple man. 24 buttons is a bit overwhelming for me.

That’s alot of buttons!

I just use the same 6 buttons (power/skip a track/volume, etc)
